This year the flu vaccine is being offered to all children aged 2, 3 and 4 years as well as children of other ages in “at risk categories” such as diabetes. The immunisation is typically given in the form of a nasal spray.
If your child has received an invitation for the seasonal influenza vaccination, please feel free to book an appointment to have this done with our Immunisations Nurse.
Please remember to bring your invitation letter with you to your appointment.
As well as preventing flu in your child, it has been shown that immunising children also protects older people and patients at risk of severe complications from flu, by reducing the circulation of the flu virus across populations.
