The Warminster Diabetes UK group formed in March 2016 and consists of 8 volunteers.
Their mission is to help Diabetes UK improve the lives of people living with diabetes in the Warminster and Villages area, by offering support and information for anyone with diabetes, and their carers, raising awareness of diabetes in the local community and fundraising for the charity.
The group work closely with local healthcare professionals to organise a mixture of social and informative meetings with guest speakers encompassing diabetic nurses, dieticians, podiatrists, GPs and optometrists. Health professionals are invited to the meetings to inform and advise people with diabetes on how to live well and avoiding complications.

A full house of 80 people attended a Quiz Night in the Warminster
Conservative Club on 12th October. The event was held to raise funds to pay for the educational presentations that Warminster Diabetes Support Group hold in the Civic Centre most months. With the good will of the club and the generosity of the people of Warminster, the evening raised £357. Eric Ludlow again organised an interesting quiz and Arlene provided a delicious buffet. The secretary, Clive Wright, thanked all those who had contributed to the success of the evening, and, in particular, the vouchers that were supplied for the raffle by the Bishopstrow Hotel, the Snooty Fox and Linham Butchers. He also thanked Tesco, Trowbridge for their donation of fine wine for each member of the winning team, L2 D2
