Confidentiality

The Practice may share your personal information with other NHS organisations where this is appropriate for your healthcare. Rarely, on other occasions the practice may approach you for specific, fully informed, consent to release your personal information to third parties.

Information will not normally be released to family members without written patient consent (this also includes test results, or whether a patient has attended the surgery).

In some circumstances there are statutory or ethical obligations to disclose information to others (such as public health issues) which may not require your consent, nevertheless you may be consulted about these in advance.

All staff have access to your medical and personal details when this is required in relation to their roles, however, they will have received data-protection training. All members of staff have a confidentiality agreement as part of their employment contract.
