CCTV Images and Telephone Call Recording

The surgery has an extensive CCTV monitoring system and the facilities to record telephone calls coming into, and being made from, the surgery.

This information is collected for the benefit of patients receiving services at the surgery and is stored in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

Images are held securely and will not be retained longer than considered necessary; they will then be deleted.

Other than in accordance with statutory rights, access to images will be at the discretion of the Partners, who are Data Controllers for the purposes of the Data Protection Act.

CCTV and telephone recordings are held to improve the personal security of patients and staff whilst on the premises, and for the prevention and detection of crime. Images may be provided to the police or other bodies. Where access is granted in response to an appropriate application, images may be edited so as to preserve the anonymity of otherwise identifiable third parties.
